Adult Driver Training Program

Road to Your Learners Program

This program is for individuals looking to get their Class 5 Learners Licence. This program offers 16 hours of classroom training to prepare for the Class 5 knowledge test. One knowledge test is included and conducted at the end of the classroom training.

Registration fee is $10.00.

Courses are available each month.

Classroom Training is done on weekdays, 10:00am – 12:00pm and 1:00pm – 3:00pm.

This program provides behind-the-wheel training tailored for low-income individuals seeking Class 5 in-car instruction. Through comprehensive lessons, participants will acquire the essential skills and confidence necessary to navigate roads safely and adeptly. The ultimate goal is to prepare them to pass the Class 5 Road test in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Proof of low income required.

Booking fee of $5.00 for 1 hour in-car lesson. One appointment scheduled at a time.

Training times are Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm

Special consideration for individuals required to complete Mandatory Training Requirement hours requested from Manitoba Public Insurance.

Eligibility Requirements

Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
Must be a Manitoba resident, living in Winnipeg.
Never held a Class 5 Driver’s Licence before
Must NOT have outstanding fines or holds on ability to have a licence.
Must be a low-income person. Proof of low income may be required. ei. EIA budget letter, CRA notice of assessment, bank statement, pay stub.
Must be unemployed or underemployed (less than 20 hours per week)
Must have the required identification to apply for a drivers licence with Manitoba Public Insurance.
Must be able to attend a minimum of 12 of the 16 hours of classroom training.
Must be prepared to pay the initial licence fee of maximum $65.00.
